“Change is an essential element for progress of any organization. To introduce change, projects are undertaken to develop and deliver the required new products that are used in normal business environments to deliver the expected benefits. PRINCE2 can ensure that your project approach is standardized across your organization and that the Project management is more successful, therefore delivering appropriate change more efficiently and effectively. Underpinned by a set of Principles, PRINCE2 ensures that best practice is applied in every project and that the project teams follow a set of processes to complete the project.”

Topics
Our PRINCE2 training is an accredited course for the project management approach PRINCE2 that is delivered by our partner Insights. The PRINCE2 training can be either booked as a 3-day Foundation training or combined with an additional 2-day Practitioner training. Therefore, the whole 5-day PRINCE2 training prepares for both PRINCE2 certificates, the Foundation and the Practitioner PRINCE2 certificate.
Overall, the PRINCE2 seminar places high importance on providing many opportunities for practical participation. Especially essential for a good and enjoyable PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner PRINCE2 training is the use of an illustrating case study. Both are important for each PRINCE training, which is why our trainers place a high priority on them.
In our PRINCE2 training, participants will learn everything about the PRINCE2 Framework and its four major parts: 7 PRINCE2 Principles, 7 PRINCE2 Processes, 7 PRINCE2 Themes as well as the adaptation to the project environment. Furthermore, the PRINCE2 training addresses explicitly the relationship between Business Case – the first of the PRINCE2 Themes -, programmes and the project as a whole.
The PRINCE2 training will first cover all the Principles related to PRINCE2. The first is Continued business justification, which means that a project must always anticipate a – documented and approved – benefit. Learn from experience means that experiences from previous projects are always documented and transferred to actual projects. The third principle addressed in the PRINCE2 training is Defined roles and responsibilities: Both must be defined for users, suppliers and the company. Manage by stages means that a PRINCE2 project is divided into stages so that risks and changes can be regulated specifically. According to Manage by exception, there are determined tolerance limits for the warrant of actions in each project goal. Principle six is Focus on products, i.e. the focus on the production of a qualitatively valuable product. The last principle is Tailor to suit the project: The adaption of the PRINCE2 Framework to the company specific environment, performance, and scope.
Of course, the PRINCE2 Processes are also covered in our PRINCE2 training.
The first Process is Starting up a project: Setting up the project management team structure in order to get the authority to initiate a project. In Initiating a project, a stable base for the project is built and documented to ensure the project benefit. Directing a project requires the project board to decide about suitable actions. The project manager is responsible for Controlling a stage: He delegates the work packages to qualified employees. These work packages will be processed afterwards in Managing product delivery and reported via checkpoint reports. The project manager is also responsible for Managing a stage boundary, including results preparation to be confirmed by the project board. The PRINCE2 training lastly addresses Closing a project: The project manager closes the project by delivering the product and evaluating the project.
Before the Foundation and Practitioner PRINCE2 training covers the examination technique of the PRINCE2 test, the PRINCE2 Themes are addressed: Business Case, Organization, Quality, Plans, Risk, Change and Progress.
All these subjects are covered during the Foundation PRINCE2 training. During the Practitioner PRINCE2 advanced training, our trainers deliver additional practical implications to transfer the gained knowledge into practice.
Audience
Our PRINCE2 training is especially valuable for professionals and leaders required to plan and direct successful projects. For attending our PRINCE2 training, project management experience is useful but not essential. You do not need to have any special competencies or skills. However, pre-course materials are provided beforehand and this is expected to be undertaken prior to the training. For further information about the learning content, see also the 6th edition of the PRINCE2 manual.
According to the PRINCE2 Practitioner test, the Foundation qualification must be achieved before. If you are interested in additional project management related topics, you should take a closer look at our other trainings, e.g. the Scrum Schulung, the Projektmanagement Seminar or CPPM.
Achieving your PRINCE2 qualifications in our PW-Akademie is especially beneficial as we provide you with modern course rooms that facilitate concentrating and learning. You can also take a break in our kitchen area and settle down in the lounges with cool drinks or coffee. Furthermore, our partner Insights is the accredited training organisation for PRINCE2, so you will get to learn from absolute experts in the PRINCE2 area.
Target
The overall aim of our PRINCE2 training is to encompass the most critical elements of a PRINCE2 project. After completing the PRINCE2 seminar, you will be able to describe and apply all facets of the PRINCE2 Principles, Processes, and Themes and to tailor each to a specific project. You will further be able to set up and manage complex projects with suitable roles, identify and control risks as well as ensure that a focus on quality is maintained. Additionally, you will be qualified to monitor the objectives of a project and the essential adjustments needed to respond to changes.
Finally, the PRINCE2 training enables participants to pass the PRINCE2 foundation test on the afternoon of the third day (1h closed book exam, 60 multiple choice questions, on paper, pass mark of 55% = 33 marks) and the PRINCE2 Practitioner test on the morning of the fifth day (2.5h open book exam, 68 questions, pass mark is 55% = 38 marks).
